Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters capable of handling up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, verify the motor's full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage and confirm if it is single phase or three phase. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA, select the control power used to close the contactor, and choose the overload by selecting a current range that includes the motor's FLA. Options include incoming power configurations such as "direct-online starter," "separate control voltage," or "remote start terminals," depending on whether the line power will also be used as control power or will be activated from an external switch.
