Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters designed for applications up to 60HP or 80A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, first verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate, ensuring you confirm whether the power is 1-phase or 3-phase. Choose a starter with a current rating higher than the FLA, select the control power for closing the contactor, and select an overload current range that includes the FLA. The options include a direct-online starter when the line power is the same as the control power, separate control voltage for differing line and control voltages, and remote start terminals for activation from an external switch, which assumes equal line and control voltages or may involve separate voltages with remote start terminals. The motor starter features include an 80A rating, 3-phase capability, separate coil voltage, a reset button, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, 57-68A overload setting, and a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
