Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for applications up to 60HP or 80A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the specified input voltage and confirm whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for a current higher than the FLA and select the control power used to close the contactor. The overload should be chosen based on a current range that includes the FLA identified earlier. Additional criteria for selection include the type of incoming power; options include a "direct-online starter," "separate control voltage," or configurations with "remote start terminals." The key features of these starters include an 80A rating, compatibility with 1-phase power, a direct online functionality, a start/stop mechanism, and a control coil rated between 100-250V AC/DC, as well as a 48-60A overload relay.
