Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60hp or 80A. The assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter for specific requirements, it is crucial to verify the full load amperage (FLA) on the motor or equipment nameplate at the input voltage being supplied, confirming whether it is single-phase or three-phase power. The starter must be rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor. The selection process also involves choosing the control power used to close the contactor and selecting the overload by identifying a current range that encompasses the motor's FLA. The options available include incoming power configurations: "Direct-On-Line starter" for matching line and control voltages, "Separate Control Voltage" for differing voltages, and "Remote Start Terminals" for activation from an external switch, with the latter allowing for separate control voltage usage.
