Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. Assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter for your requirements, refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage you will supply, confirming whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power to the motor, and choosing a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor. Additionally, choose the control power used to close the contactor, and select the overload by choosing a current range that contains the FLA of the motor. Once you have done this, select your starter based on optional criteria such as incoming power configuration, which can be a "direct-online starter" if line power is used as control power as well, or "separate control voltage" if the control voltage differs from line voltage. For activation from an external switch, terminals may be added for control power input, referred to as "remote start terminals." If applying different voltages for line power and control power with remote start terminals, this is termed "separate control voltage + remote start terminals." The motor starter features include an 80A 1-phase direct online start/stop capability, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and a 57-68A overload capability, all within a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
