Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters suitable for applications up to 60HP or 80A. These assembled motor starters include a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter for your specific requirements, first refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage and confirm whether it is 1-phase or 3-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor. Next, choose the control power to operate the contactor and select the overload by picking a current range that contains the motor's FLA. Additional options include selecting between direct-online starters (using line power as control power), separate control voltage, or incorporating remote start terminals for activation via an external switch, assuming the line and control voltage are the same. The kit features an 80A rating for 3-phase direct online operation with a reset button, a coil voltage of 250-500V AC/DC, and an overload range of 57-68A, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
