Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60HP or 80A. Assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter for your requirements, first refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage supplied, confirming whether it is single-phase or three-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of your motor, select the control power used to close the contactor, and choose the overload by selecting a current range that contains the motor's FLA. It is important to consider the incoming power: if line power will be used as the control power, it is referred to as a "direct-online starter," whereas separate control voltage applies if the control voltage differs from the line voltage. For activation from an external switch, terminals are added to accept control power input, termed "remote start terminals." The selected starter is characterized by features including 80A capacity, single-phase operation, separate coil voltage, remote start terminals, start/stop functionality, and a 100-250V AC/DC coil with 65-78A overload protection, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
