Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters rated up to 60HP or 80A. These assembled motor starters include a contactor, an overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To adequately select the proper starter, it is essential to refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the supplied input voltage, confirming whether it is single-phase or three-phase power. It is important to choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor. The control power used to close the contactor should also be determined, along with the overload by selecting a current range that includes the motor's FLA. For additional selection, consider whether the incoming power will be used as the control power, categorizing it as a "direct-online starter" or if there is a need for a "separate control voltage." If activation is required from an external switch, terminals can be added for this control power input, known as "remote start terminals." Key features include an 80A rating, capability for 1 phase, remote start terminals, a reset button only, a 100-250V AC/DC coil, and an overload relay rated for 57-68A.
