Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters up to 60 HP or 80 A. The assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the proper starter for your requirements, first refer to the motor or equipment nameplate to verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage you will supply, confirming whether it is single-phase or three-phase power. Choose a starter rated for current (amps) higher than the FLA of the motor. Select the control power used to close the contactor and choose the overload by selecting a current range that contains the FLA of the motor. Optional criteria to consider include the incoming power type; if line power is used as the control power, it is a "direct-on-line starter," whereas a "separate control voltage" is indicated if the control voltage differs from the line voltage. If the starter needs to be activated from an external switch, terminals for control power input must be added, referred to as "remote start terminals." The kit features an 80 A rating, single-phase configuration, remote start terminals, a reset button only, a 100-250 V AC/DC coil, and a 65-78 A overload. This device is designed for compliance with NEMA 4X specifications.
