Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters with ratings up to 60HP or 80A. The assembled motor starters consist of a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, users should verify the full load amperage (FLA) at the input voltage, ensuring the compatibility with either single-phase or three-phase power. The starter must be rated for current higher than the FLA of the motor. The control power used to actuate the contactor must also be chosen, along with an overload relay that encompasses the FLA from the previous step.
