Springer Controls manufactures a complete line of IEC enclosed AC motor starters designed for applications up to 60HP or 80A. Each assembled motor starter includes a contactor, overload relay, and a NEMA 4X rated polycarbonate enclosure. To select the appropriate starter, it is essential to verify the full load amperage (FLA) from the motor or equipment nameplate at the input voltage, ensuring to determine if the motor operates on single-phase or three-phase power. The starter should be rated for current higher than the FLA. Additionally, choose the control power for closing the contactor and the overload by selecting a current range that encompasses the motor's FLA. Optional criteria include incoming power configurations such as "direct-online starter" for matching line and control power voltages, or "separate control voltage" for different voltages. For external activation from a switch, "remote start terminals" can be added. The specific model features an 80A rating, operates on 1 phase, utilizes a separate coil voltage with a reset button, has a coil voltage range of 100-250V AC/DC, and includes a 48-60A overload, all housed in a NEMA 4X polycarbonate enclosure.
