The BeadBug™ 6 is an advanced homogenizer that complements the Benchmark homogenizer line, alongside the larger BeadBlaster™ 24 and the personal-sized BeadBug™ 3. It utilizes a three-dimensional shaking motion to disrupt various sample types, achieving high-velocity impacts through the use of appropriately sized beads, thereby efficiently releasing cellular contents such as nucleic acids and proteins within approximately 45 seconds for most samples, ranging from cultured cells to organ tissues and bone. The unit allows for easy programming of speed, time, number of cycles, and pause intervals, with the last set parameters retained in memory for convenience. The BeadBug 6 can process up to six 2.0 ml tubes simultaneously, and with optional adapters, it accommodates two 5.0 ml tubes. The design features sealed tubes to prevent cross-contamination, ensuring sample integrity. A wide variety of bead materials and sizes are available for purchase in both prefilled tubes and bulk, addressing diverse sample processing requirements.
