SmartDrop™ L Nano is the cost-effective solution for laboratories that require the determination of nucleic acid and protein concentrations as well as the purity of samples. The kit includes a LED light source and silicon photocell sensor that provides readings at 260 and 280 nm. It accommodates samples ranging from 1.0 to 2.0 µL, which are loaded directly onto the quartz pedestal. Results are delivered in approximately 5 seconds, with the software automatically calculating and displaying the 260/280 ratios. The device features a full-color 7" touchscreen with icon-driven menus and preprogrammed protocols, allowing users to begin operation quickly without the need for an external computer. The arm of the instrument is lowered after placing a drop of sample, stretching it into a liquid column of a specified length for spectral analysis. Concentrations of DNA, RNA, and proteins along with purity numbers are displayed in seconds, with the option to print results, save them in the onboard memory, or export them via USB as an Excel file. Each SmartDrop™ model comes equipped with an integrated printer and includes a cuvette port along with two optical glass cuvettes for OD600 readings. The fixed 0.5 mm path length allows detection of up to 2500 ng/µL of dsDNA, making it an ideal choice for basic quantification of DNA, RNA, and proteins.
