These autoclavable desiccators are constructed from polypropylene (PP) and polycarbonate (PC) and are capable of maintaining a vacuum of up to 740 mm Hg for 24 hours without the need for greasing. They can be autoclaved at 121°C for 15 minutes. The top dome is molded from rigid and transparent PC, providing a crystal-clear view of the sample inside. A knurled knob located on the top facilitates easy handling of the dome. The lower section is made of PP and features a perforated PP desiccator plate. An internal groove on the flange accommodates a silicon rubber O-ring, while the PP stopcock is designed to accept 1/4" I.D. tubing and includes a self-lubricating PTFE plug. The three-way plug allows for the creation of a vacuum, releasing a vacuum, or shutting off the system.
