The Eagle® 55 gallon plastic drum is constructed of blue blow-molded high-density polyethylene (HDPE) with UV inhibitors, combining durability and lightweight design with weather and chemical resistance. It features a white lid with a plastic lever-lock band closure, making it ideal for the safe storage, handling, and transportation of hazardous materials, as well as for spill containment and cleanup, original shipping container use, and bio waste disposal and incineration. This lab pack/open head drum accommodates smaller non-damaged bottles, cans, carboys, and 5-gallon pails of non-leaking hazardous materials, and if used with leaking materials, it must be packed with sufficient sorbents, ensuring no free liquids are present. The drum complies with DOT 49 CFR 173.12, FDA 21 CFR 177.1520 food grade quality standards, and has a UL 94HB flammability rating. The interior dimensions are 20-5/8" (31cm) at the top, 22-1/8" (56.2cm) at the bottom, and a height of 35-13/16" (91cm).
