The Eagle® 55 gallon lab pack/open head/straight sided drum is made from yellow blow-molded high-density polyethylene (HDPE) with UV inhibitors, providing a durable and lightweight solution that is both weather and chemical resistant. It features a white lid secured with a metal bolt ring closure, ensuring safe storage, handling, and transportation of hazardous materials, as well as for spill containment and cleanup. The drum serves as an original shipping container suitable for bio waste disposal and incineration. Designed specifically for use with smaller non-damaged bottles, cans, carboys, and 5-gallon pails of non-leaking hazardous materials, it is important to pack with sufficient sorbents if used with leaking materials to avoid free liquids. The drum complies with DOT 49 CFR 173.12 and FDA 21 CFR 177.1520 food grade quality standards, and has a UL 94HB flammability rating. The interior dimensions are 20-5/8 inches (31 cm) at the top, 22-1/8 inches (56.2 cm) at the bottom, and stands 35-13/16 inches (91 cm) tall.
