The 5/16-18x2 Six Lobe Flat Thread Cutting Screw Type F is a fully threaded screw made from 18-8 stainless steel. Designed for use in heavy gauge sheet metal, aluminum, zinc and lead die castings, cast iron, brass, and plastic, these thread-cutting Type F screws require the material into which they are cutting threads to have a lower hardness by 10-20 Rockwell hardness. The flat head design is ideal for applications where protrusion of the fastener above the mating surface is not acceptable, typically featuring a 100-degree flat head or, for fastening softer materials, an 82-degree flat head.
