The 4-40x1/4 Phillips pan thread cutting screw type F is fully threaded and made of zinc. Thread-cutting type-F threaded screws are specifically designed for use in heavy gauge sheet metal, aluminum, zinc and lead die castings, cast iron, brass, and plastic. When working with stainless steel, the material into which the screw is cutting threads should possess a lower hardness of 10-20 Rockwell hardness. This pan head screw style can be substituted in most applications for round, truss, or binding heads.
