The 3/8-16 x 3 unslotted indented hex thread cutting screw type F is a fully threaded screw made of zinc, suitable for use in heavy gauge sheet metal, aluminum, zinc and lead die castings, cast iron, brass, and plastic. These thread-cutting type-F screws require the material into which they cut threads to have a lower hardness by 10-20 Rockwell hardness, particularly when used with stainless steel.
