The 3/8-16x5 Phillips flat thread cutting screw type F is a fully threaded zinc bake screw designed for use in heavy gauge sheet metal, aluminum, zinc and lead die castings, cast iron, brass, and plastic. These thread-cutting type-F screws effectively cut threads into materials, specifically requiring that the stainless steel into which they are inserted has a lower hardness by 10-20 Rockwell hardness. The flat head design of these screws is ideal for applications where protrusion of the fastener above the mating surface is not acceptable, featuring a typical 100-degree flat head or an 82-degree flat head for fastening softer materials.
