The Edwards 5531M Adaptatone Millennium is a heavy-duty industrial tone-selectable signaling device capable of producing volume-controlled high-decibel tones. The kit includes the signaling device itself, while options for tone activation can be obtained from Cat. No. 5538-4 and/or Cat. No. 5538-4R Adaptatone signal actuators, which provide normally open contacts. The device is powered by a 24VDC external voltage source, such as the output of a PLC. It utilizes a microprocessor circuit to generate 55 distinctive tones, which can be configured using miniature DIP switches located within the unit. The programmed tones operate on a pyramid-type priority system, making it suitable for various industrial applications, including emergency warning systems, plant evacuations, security alarms, process monitoring, shift notifications, and paging signals. The 5531M is designed for mounting options that accommodate either 1/2" (13mm) conduit or surface installation. The product is compliant with relevant industry standards and certifications, ensuring reliability and effectiveness in demanding environments.
