The Universal Adaptaplate mounts directly on a surface or electrical box and can be weatherproofed by adding an appropriate back box. It comes completely assembled with all necessary hardware included. The housing is constructed from shockproof die-cast material and is dustproof. The AC vibrating bells are designed to produce a long continuous ringing sound, with the striker continuing to strike the gong in rapid-fire action as long as current is applied. The Universal Adaptaplate is compatible with any single-gang box with dimensions of 3 1/4" (83 mm), 3 1/2" (89 mm), or 4" (102 mm) octagon boxes, as well as any plaster cover with mounting holes on 2 3/4" (70 mm) centers. The 6" and 10" bells can also be mounted on 4" (102 mm) square boxes. These bells are specified for timing, scheduling, paging, and general alarm applications, with 4" (102 mm) sizes recommended for quiet office areas, 6" (152 mm) sizes for moderate noise level areas like general factory areas, and 10" (254 mm) sizes for loud areas such as heavy machine shops.
