The VM series of enclosures range in size from 4" x 3" to 9" x 3", with varying depths across 13 different sizes and a variety of configurations. Each "VM" standard enclosure includes an opaque cover and four non-metallic corner screws, constructed from impact and corrosive resistant Valox® 357U thermoplastic polyester in light grey (RAL7035). The design features molded internal bosses for back panel mounting of components or DIN rails and boasts a heat deflection temperature of ASTM D 648 up to 280°F (138°C). A tongue-and-groove gasket fitting ensures a tight seal, while a seamless poured polyurethane gasket provides an oil-resistant, watertight, and dust-tight seal. Valox® material can be easily punched, drilled, sawed, or filed and is recognized as a crystalline thermoplastic polyester engineered for demanding end-use environments. The VM series enclosures are suitable for use as insulated electrical junction boxes, terminal wiring boxes, instrument housings, electrical control boxes, and pushbutton housings in wet, dusty, and corrosive environments. The enclosures have a protection degree of IP66 (IEC 529) and are listed under UL types 4, 4X, 3, 3R, 12, and 13, as well as CSA types 4, 4X, 3, 3R, 12, and 13, and NEMA rating types 4, 4X, 3, 3R, 12, and 13.
