Product Details
Chloroprene (CR), also known by its trade name "Neoprene", was one of the first successful synthetic elastomers developed in 1931 by DuPont. This elastomer is produced through the emulsion polymerization of chloroprene, or 2-chlorobutadiene, and offers a balanced combination of properties suitable for a variety of applications. It exhibits excellent performance in contact with oils and numerous chemicals, while also providing good resistance to sun, ozone, and weather conditions. Additionally, CR displays outstanding toughness and notable resistance to fire. The cure system for standard CRs involves metal oxides and organic accelerators. It operates effectively within a temperature range of -40°C (-40°F) for low temperatures and up to 100°C (212°F) for high temperatures.
