Product Details
Chloroprene (CR), known as "Neoprene," is a versatile synthetic elastomer developed by DuPont in 1931 through the emulsion polymerization of chloroprene, or 2-chlorobutadiene. This material exhibits a balanced combination of properties, making it suitable for various applications due to its excellent performance in contact with oils and chemicals, as well as its good resistance to sun, ozone, and weather. Additionally, CR showcases outstanding toughness and fire resistance. The cure system for standard CRs involves sulfur curing, utilizing metal oxides and organic accelerators. In terms of temperature capabilities, standard low temperature performance extends to -40°C (-40°F), while the standard high temperature limit reaches 100°C (212°F).
