The Armored Textiles N56H4FX450S JAFX4 is a 4-ply fire hose measuring 4 inches by 50 feet with a pressure rating of 250 psi, designed for supply and attack operations that require resistance to petroleum, chemicals, and abrasion. This unique nitrile rubber hose exceeds the NFPA 1961 fire hose standard (2013 edition) and features a four-layer co-extrusion process that forms a one-piece extruded hose with a synthetic RLH cover. Constructed from 100% high tenacity synthetic yarn, the hose is circular woven and locked with durable synthetic nitrile rubber, resulting in a single, homogenous extruded through-the-weave structure without the use of glues or adhesives. The co-extruded RLH cover provides superior abrasion, heat, chemical, and age/ozone resistance, enhancing performance compared to other extruded hose products. The lining's tensile strength and cover shall not be less than 2500 psi, exhibiting an ultimate elongation of not less than 500%. The adhesion between the liner and inside jacket has a separation rate not greater than 1 inch per minute over ten minutes under a 12-pound weight. Lining specimens exposed to 158°F ± 3.6°F for 96 hours must meet ASTM D 573 standards, with tensile and elongation properties maintained at not less than 75% of initial values after evaluation. Additionally, the outer jacket is required to withstand a minimum of 30,000 cycles on the Taber Abraser without abrasion through the filler yarn, using an H-22 calibrade wheel with a 1,000-gram load on each wheel.
