The 3M™ 60440231482 Stikit™ paper sheet roll 426U measures 2-3/4" x 25 yds and features an 80 grit silicon carbide construction, suitable for applications such as finishing, lacquer sanding, scuffing, sealant removal, and varnish stripping in cabinetry, custom woodworking, millwork, furniture, and primary wood and panel processing. This abrasive sheet stock is constructed on an A-weight, light paper with pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) backing and includes an anti-loading coating, making it ideal for finishing applications like paint prep, white wood sanding, sealer sanding, and solid surface finishing. The open coat abrasive is fast cutting, load resistant, and yields a smoother finish compared to aluminum oxide or garnet abrasives. The sizing accommodates various sanding blocks, minimizing waste and providing bulk stock for high production environments. The Stikit™ PSA backing enhances handling during sanding and finishing, allowing for quick and easy change out when worn out. Additional applications include general sanding, finishing, blending, surface leveling and prep prior to staining or painting, clear coat dulling, and bare wood sanding. Silicon carbide is a synthetic mineral known for its sharpness and is commonly used for final finishing in white wood sanding. While it has a faster breakdown rate than aluminum oxide, it produces a superior finish.
