The 3M™ Cubitron™ II Hookit™ Film Disc 775L features 3M Precision Shaped Ceramic Grain, which provides a significant advancement in abrasive technology. This triangular shaped ceramic mineral is engineered to slice through substrates rather than gouging, allowing for cutting speeds up to 2x faster and a lifespan up to 6x longer than conventional abrasives. The discs are designed for various applications primarily focused on stock removal and are effective on materials such as metals, composites, gelcoat, and whitewood. The film backing enhances durability with increased tear resistance compared to paper discs, ensuring better edge retention. They are compatible with 3M™ Elite Random Orbital Sanders and can be used in settings where adhesive backed discs might become contaminated by dust or dirt, as these Hookit™ discs typically produce finer finishes. Conveniently, they can attach to a hook-and-loop backup disc pad (sold separately), allowing for easy removal and reuse throughout the life of the abrasive. Applications include AOEM finish prep/repair, defect repair/leveling, finishing, orbital sanding, and paint/lacquer sanding on cabinetry, custom woodworking, and millwork, making them suitable for industries such as cabinetry and furniture.
