At the reference level "A," the male thread matches the thread diameter of the female thread, allowing for hand fastening. Enhanced tightening with a tool further increases the engagement length, ensuring a secure screw connection. Typically, a sealant such as a fibrous material or Teflon band is applied, aided by a roughened thread design that prevents shifting of the sealant during installation. These fluid level sight glasses are suitable for use on pressurized oil tanks and can withstand temperatures up to 230°F (110°C).
