The GN 743.7 fluid level sight glasses feature a conical thread design that enables a metallic seal. When the male thread is tightened, it securely wedges itself into the corresponding female thread, with the male thread having the same diameter as the female thread at reference level "A," allowing for hand fastening. This design ensures secure tightening with a tool, which enhances the length of engagement and seals the screw connection effectively. Typically, a sealant, such as fibrous material or Teflon band, is applied to ensure leak prevention, and the roughened texture of the thread helps keep the sealant in place during fastening. These fluid level sight glasses are suitable for use with pressurized oil tanks and are temperature resistant up to 230° F (110° C).
