The GN 743.7 fluid level sight glasses feature a conical thread design that enables a metallic seal, ensuring a secure connection when the male thread is tightened into the female thread. At the reference level "A," the male thread matches the diameter of the female thread, allowing for hand fastening, while additional secure tightening with a tool enhances engagement length and seals the connection. The use of a sealant, either fibrous or Teflon band, is common to further enhance sealing, and the thread is roughened to prevent shifting of the sealant during fastening. These fluid level sight glasses are suitable for use on pressurized oil tanks and are temperature resistant up to 230° F (110° C).
