GN 744 fluid level sight glasses with a prismatic reflector enhance the utility of oil level sight glasses by providing a clear view of oil color and viscosity through a cats-eye prism effect. This design is particularly beneficial in scenarios involving over-filling, under-filling, and poor lighting conditions, although it is not suitable for applications requiring the viewing of alcohol levels. These sight glasses are compatible with pressurized tanks and feature an O-ring that is integrated into the aluminum body, similar to the GN 743 oil level sight glasses. The sealing is accomplished with an O-ring positioned on the periphery rather than the face edge of the glass, ensuring that leak tightness is unaffected by axial pressures. The O-ring is housed in a groove within the housing, preventing loss and extrusion when the sight glass is tightened, while also allowing for the use of a softer elastomer for improved sealing. The maximum heat resistance is 100°C (212°F). For installation on walls less than 4mm (.157") thick, a mounting nut from part series GN 543.1 is recommended.
