The GN 743.8 fluid level sight glasses feature a conical thread design that enables a metallic seal by wedging the male thread within the corresponding female thread when tightened. The male thread matches the diameter of the female thread at the reference level "A," allowing for hand fastening, while secure tightening with a tool enhances engagement length and seals the screw connection. The use of a sealant, such as a fibrous or Teflon band, is recommended, and the roughened thread design prevents the sealant from shifting during the fastening process. These sight glasses are suitable for use on pressurized oil tanks and are temperature resistant up to 356° F (180° C).
