Penco's heavy-duty pallet racks are engineered for efficient storage of palletized items, utilizing high-strength steel to achieve a superior strength-to-weight ratio. The basic components include upright frames and beams, both manufactured to exacting tolerances for dependable service at their rated loads. The racks feature a slotted design that is easy to install and adjust on 3" centers, along with a safety lock tab to prevent beam dislodging. The standard beam ends are made of extra heavy gauge steel with a three-prong connection that ensures positive beam-to-post alignment along the 8-1/2" connector length and uniform load distribution. Protective tabs extend along the beam face to safeguard the prongs during transit and installation. A recessed safety key, made from heavy gauge steel, engages a slot in the side of the post to resist upward forces from material handling equipment up to 1,000 pounds. This key is an integral part of the beam assembly, easily engaged without tools, and is clearly visible for safety checks. The step-down design accommodates accessories with two available step sizes, 7/8" and 1-5/8" high. Safety is further enhanced by the beam locking key that engages the post slot once beams are installed, providing additional security against upward force.
