Penco's heavy-duty pallet racks are meticulously designed for efficient storage of palletized items, utilizing high-strength steel to achieve a superior strength-to-weight ratio. The core components consist of upright frames and beams, both manufactured to exacting tolerances, ensuring durability and dependable service at their rated loads. The slotted design facilitates easy installation and adjustment on 3" centers, with a safety lock tab that prevents beam dislodgement. Standard beam ends are constructed from extra heavy gauge steel, featuring a three-prong connection that ensures positive beam-to-post alignment along an 8-1/2" length for uniform load distribution. Additional protection is provided by tabs extending along the beam face during transit and installation. Each beam incorporates a unique recessed safety key made from heavy gauge steel, which engages a slot in the side of the post and can withstand an upward force from material handling equipment up to 1,000 pounds. Designed for compatibility with accessories, the beams have a step-down feature available in two sizes: 7/8" and 1-5/8" high. The beam locking keys should be installed immediately after beam installation to ensure safety, being easily engaged without tools and clearly visible for safety checks.
