Caloritech™ type PH electric control panel enclosure heaters are fan-forced air heaters designed to control the environment within enclosures by maintaining a stable temperature, effectively mitigating the adverse effects of low temperatures such as corrosion, freezing, or condensation on interior components. The heater selection process is based on wattage requirements, which are determined considering the surface area, insulation properties of the enclosure, and the temperature difference between the ambient and enclosure. Installation should ideally be at the center and lower part of the cabinet for optimal heat distribution, and the unit should be mounted vertically to maximize the efficiency of heated air release through the top vents. The enclosures must be sealed and free from dust and dirt, and it is advised not to install heaters on flammable materials or place heat-sensitive components near the heat discharge area. The heaters include features such as CSA C/US approval, fan auto/on switch for prolonged motor life, an externally adjustable thermostat (0°F to 100°F or -18°C to 38°C), a pilot light for 'heat on' indication, a terminal strip for quick installation with stranded and solid wire, high-temperature safety protection, optional DIN rail mounting, lightweight design, low maintenance requirements, and an aluminum alloy outer casing that protects interior components. Additional specifications include a voltage of 120V, single-phase (1Ø) operation, a frequency of 60 Hz, and a minimum ambient operating temperature of -4°F (-20°C).
