Caloritech™ SS series radiant strip heaters and component heaters feature offset terminals at one end and serve as a versatile heating source suitable for various applications such as surface heating (platens, dies, molds, tanks, piping), process air heating (drying cabinets, ovens, baking ovens, vacuum dehydrating ovens, moisture protection for motors), dropping resistors in railroads and load banks, winterizing (hoppers, conveyors, ducts, car heating, thawing), and original equipment (air conditioning, laboratory equipment, food packaging, ovens, presses, drying equipment). These strip heaters include two offset bolt-type terminals for easy electrical connections and are designed for secure mounting using holes provided for wall housing installation. Caloritech™ SS strip heaters can be controlled via a heating control panel, mechanical thermostat, or bi-metal thermostats, and special order options are available to include lead wires extending from one end for flexible installation. The heaters operate effectively with an application-dependent maximum sheath temperature of 1000°F (538°C), encased in a stainless steel sheath that offers both corrosion resistance and an appealing aesthetic. It is critical to determine the operating temperature to select wires with an appropriate temperature rating for the insulation jacket. Installation guidelines are provided to ensure proper setup.
