Caloritech™ SS Series radiant strip heaters and component heaters feature offset terminals at one end and serve as a versatile and economical heating source, often utilized in a variety of applications such as surface heating (platens, dies, molds, tanks, piping), process air heating (drying cabinets, ovens, baking ovens, vacuum dehydrating ovens, moisture protection for motors), as dropping resistors in railroads and load banks, and for winterizing (hoppers, conveyors, ducts, car heating, thawing). Each SS Series strip heater has two offset bolt-type terminals that facilitate easy electrical connections, with mounting holes designed to secure the heaters on walls. These heaters can be effectively controlled using a heating control panel, mechanical thermostat, or bi-metal thermostats that can be surface-mounted. Special order options include lead wires extending from one end of the strip heater to enhance installation flexibility, contingent on knowing the required operating temperature for selecting wires with appropriate insulation jacket ratings. The entire heater assembly is encased in a stainless steel sheath, which provides corrosion resistance and an aesthetically pleasing appearance, while ensuring suitability for applications where the maximum sheath temperature does not exceed 1000°F (538°C). Installation guidelines are provided for optimal use.
