Caloritech™ SS Series radiant strip heaters and component heaters are designed for a variety of applications, including surface heating for platens, dies, molds, and tanks, as well as process air heating for drying cabinets and ovens. These heaters feature two offset bolt-type terminals located at one end, providing versatility in installation. They can be effectively controlled using a heating control panel, mechanical thermostat, or bi-metal thermostats, which can be installed directly on the heater's surface. The heaters are equipped with mounting holes for secure attachment, and optional lead wires can be ordered to extend from one end for flexibility in installation. The surface temperature is application-dependent, so appropriate wire with a suitable temperature rating on the insulation jacket must be selected. The entire heater assembly is encased in an aluminized steel sheath, ensuring corrosion resistance and an aesthetically appealing finish, with a maximum sheath temperature limit of 1000°F (538°C). For applications requiring higher temperatures, stainless steel heaters should be used. The dimensions and specifications are tailored to meet specific needs, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
