Caloritech™ SS Series radiant strip heaters and component heaters feature offset terminals at one end, making them a versatile and economical heating source suitable for various applications including surface heating (platens, dies, molds, tanks, piping), process air heating (drying cabinets, ovens, baking ovens, vacuum dehydrating ovens, moisture protection for motors), dropping resistors for line applications in railroads and load banks, winterizing (hoppers, conveyors, ducts, car heating, thawing), and original equipment (air conditioning, laboratory equipment, food packaging, ovens, presses, drying equipment). These heaters incorporate two offset bolt-type terminals at one end, allowing for straightforward electrical connections. They can be easily controlled using a heating control panel, mechanical thermostat, or cost-effective bi-metal thermostats that can be installed on the heater's surface. Mounting holes facilitate secure installation on walls, and upon special request, lead wires can be provided to extend from one end of the strip heater for enhanced configurability. The heaters are designed with a stainless steel sheath that provides corrosion resistance and an aesthetically pleasing appearance, with maximum sheath temperatures not exceeding 1000°F (538°C). If higher operating temperatures are anticipated, stainless steel heaters are recommended. The installation process must consider the application-dependent operating temperature to ensure the wire insulation has a suitable temperature rating.
