Caloritech™ SS Series radiant strip heaters and component heaters are equipped with offset terminals at one end, making them a versatile and economical heating source typically employed across a wide array of applications, such as surface heating for platens, dies, molds, tanks, and piping; process air heating for drying cabinets, ovens, and moisture protection for motors; use as dropping resistors in railroads and load banks; winterizing for hoppers, conveyors, and ducts; and in original equipment like air conditioning and laboratory equipment. These strip heaters feature two offset bolt-type terminals for easy installation and can be effectively controlled using a heating control panel, mechanical thermostat, or bi-metal thermostats installed on the heater's surface. They come with mounting holes for secure attachment to walls, and special order options can provide lead wires extending from one end of the heater for flexible installation. The surface temperature is application-dependent and requires consideration for selecting appropriate wire insulation ratings. Constructed from an aluminized steel sheath, the entire heater assembly is compressed under high pressure, ensuring both corrosion resistance and an aesthetically pleasing finish. Aluminized steel strip heaters are engineered for use in applications where the maximum sheath temperature does not exceed 1000°F (538°C), while stainless steel heaters are recommended for higher temperature conditions.
