Caloritech™ SS series radiant strip heaters and component heaters feature offset terminals at one end, making them a versatile and economical heating source suitable for a variety of applications such as surface heating (platens, dies, molds, tanks, piping), process air heating (drying cabinets, ovens, baking ovens, vacuum dehydrating ovens, moisture protection for motors), dropping resistors for line applications in railroads and load banks, winterizing (hoppers, conveyors, ducts, car heating, thawing), and original equipment (air conditioning, laboratory equipment, food packaging, ovens, presses, drying equipment). Each heater comes equipped with two offset bolt-type terminals at one end and can be easily controlled via a heating control panel, mechanical thermostat, or cost-effective bi-metal thermostats that can be mounted directly on the heater's surface. The heaters include mounting holes for secure installation on wall housings, with terminals extending from the sheath for straightforward electrical connections. Special order options are available, allowing for lead wires to be supplied from one end of the strip heater for increased installation flexibility. The selection of wire with an appropriate temperature rating for the insulation jacket is critical, depending on the specific operating temperature for the application. The entire heater assembly is encased in a stainless steel sheath that is compressed under high pressure, providing both corrosion resistance and an appealing appearance, with a maximum sheath temperature rating of 1000°F (538°C); higher temperatures necessitate the use of stainless steel heaters. Installation is straightforward and designed for ease of use.
