Caloritech™ SS series radiant strip heaters and component heaters feature offset terminals at one end and serve as a versatile and economical heating source suitable for a variety of applications, including surface heating for platens, dies, molds, and tanks; process air heating for drying cabinets, ovens, and moisture protection for motors; and winterizing for hoppers, conveyors, and car heating. These strip heaters are equipped with two offset bolt-type terminals, and they can be easily controlled using a heating control panel, mechanical thermostat, or bi-metal thermostats installed on the heater's surface. The design includes mounting holes for secure wall installation, with terminals extending from the sheath for simple electrical connections. Special orders can accommodate lead wires extending from one end of the heater, allowing flexible installation. It is important to provide the operating temperature for selecting appropriate wire insulation ratings, as the heater surface can reach high temperatures. The entire heater assembly is encased in an aluminized steel sheath, offering corrosion resistance and an attractive appearance, with maximum sheath temperature rated at 1000°F (538°C). For applications requiring higher temperatures, stainless steel heaters are recommended. The kit and package include mounting holes and options for lead wires, with compliance to industry standards and certifications as applicable.
