Caloritech™ SS Series radiant strip heaters and component heaters are designed with offset terminals at one end, making them a versatile and economical heating source for various applications, such as surface heating for platens, dies, molds, tanks, and piping; heating process air in drying cabinets, ovens, and moisture protection for motors; functioning as dropping resistors in railroads and load banks; and providing winterizing solutions for hoppers, conveyors, ducts, and car heating. This series features two offset bolt-type terminals, and the heaters can be efficiently controlled using a heating control panel, mechanical thermostat, or cost-effective bi-metal thermostats that can be surface-mounted. The design includes mounting holes for secure installation, with the terminal extending from the sheath for easy electrical connections. Special orders can provide lead wires extending from one end of the strip heater for flexible installation, while consideration of the operating temperature is essential for selecting wire with an appropriate temperature rating. The heaters are encased in an aluminized steel sheath that offers corrosion resistance and an appealing look, suitable for applications with a maximum sheath temperature not exceeding 1000°F (538°C); stainless steel heaters should be used for higher temperatures. The dimensions and specifications of the SS Series can be customized based on the application's specific needs.
