Caloritech™ SS series radiant strip heaters and component heaters are a versatile and economical heating source designed for a variety of applications, including surface heating for platens, dies, molds, tanks, and piping; process air heating in drying cabinets, ovens, baking ovens, vacuum dehydrating ovens, and moisture protection for motors; as dropping resistors for line applications in railroads and load banks; and for winterizing hoppers, conveyors, ducts, car heating, and thawing. Each unit features two offset bolt-type terminals at one end and can be easily controlled with a heating control panel, mechanical thermostat, or cost-effective bi-metal thermostats installed on the heater's surface. The heaters come with mounting holes for secure wall installation, allowing for easy electrical connections via a terminal extending from the sheath. Special orders can be placed for lead wires to extend from one end of the strip heater, enhancing installation flexibility. The heaters are designed to operate at temperatures where the maximum sheath temperature does not exceed 1000°F (538°C) and are encased in a high-pressure compressed stainless steel sheath that provides corrosion resistance and aesthetic appeal. Precise operating temperatures must be provided to select the appropriate wire with a suitable temperature rating on the insulation jacket.
