Caloritech™ SS Series radiant strip heaters and component heaters feature offset terminals at one end and are designed as a versatile heating solution for various applications, including surface heating, process air heating, dropping resistors, winterizing, and original equipment. The kit includes heaters with two offset bolt-type terminals, enabling easy control through heating control panels, mechanical thermostats, or economical bi-metal thermostats that can be mounted directly on the heater's surface. The heaters come with mounting holes for secure wall installation, ensuring that the terminals extend from the sheath for straightforward electrical connections. Available special order options include lead wires that can extend from one end of the strip heater, allowing for flexible installation and adaptation to specific configurations. The surface temperature of the heaters is application-dependent, necessitating knowledge of the operating temperature to select wires with appropriate insulation temperature ratings. The aluminum steel sheath encases the entire heater assembly and provides corrosion resistance while maintaining an appealing appearance, suitable for applications where the maximum sheath temperature does not exceed 1000°F (538°C). For applications requiring higher temperatures, stainless steel heaters are recommended. The dimensions and specifications of the heaters vary based on the specific model chosen.
