Caloritech™ SS series radiant strip heaters and component heaters are designed with offset terminals at one end, making them a versatile and economical heating source for a variety of applications such as surface heating (platens, dies, molds, tanks, piping), process air heating (drying cabinets, ovens, baking ovens, vacuum dehydrating ovens, moisture protection for motors), dropping resistors for line applications in railroads and load banks, winterizing (hoppers, conveyors, ducts, car heating, thawing), and original equipment (air conditioning, laboratory equipment, food packaging, ovens, presses, drying equipment). Each heater features two offset bolt-type terminals, and can be easily controlled with a heating control panel, mechanical thermostat, or bi-metal thermostats installed on the surface. The strip heaters are equipped with mounting holes for secure wall housing installation, with a terminal extending from the sheath for straightforward electrical connections. Upon request, lead wires can be supplied through a special order to extend from one end, allowing for flexible installation configurations based on the application's operating temperature, which is essential for selecting the appropriate wire with a suitable insulation jacket temperature rating. The entire heater assembly is encased in an aluminized steel sheath that offers corrosion resistance and an appealing appearance, and is suitable for applications where the maximum sheath temperature does not exceed 1000°F (538°C); for higher temperature applications, stainless steel heaters are recommended.
