Caloritech™ SS Series radiant strip heaters and component heaters, featuring offset terminals at one end, serve as a versatile and economical heating solution for various applications, including surface heating (platens, dies, molds, tanks, piping), process air heating (drying cabinets, ovens, baking ovens, vacuum dehydrating ovens, moisture protection for motors), dropping resistors for line applications in railroads and load banks, winterizing (hoppers, conveyors, ducts, car heating, thawing), and original equipment (air conditioning, laboratory equipment, food packaging, ovens, presses, drying equipment). Each SS Series strip heater is equipped with two offset bolt-type terminals at one end and can be easily controlled with a heating control panel, mechanical thermostat, or cost-effective bi-metal thermostats installed on the heater’s surface. The design includes mounting holes for secure installation on wall housings with terminals extending from the sheath for straightforward electrical connections. Special orders can include lead wires extending from one end of the strip heater, enhancing installation flexibility. The heaters' surface temperature varies based on application, necessitating knowledge of the operating temperature to select wires with appropriate insulation temperature ratings. Housed in an aluminized steel sheath, the entire heater assembly is compressed under high pressure, providing both corrosion resistance and an attractive finish, suitable for applications with maximum sheath temperatures up to 1000°F (538°C), while stainless steel heaters should be utilized for higher temperatures. Installation considerations are paramount for optimal performance.
