Caloritech™ SD Series radiant strip heaters and component heaters feature opposite end terminals and serve as a versatile and economical heating source for a wide range of applications, including surface heating for platens, dies, molds, tanks, and piping; process air heating in drying cabinets, ovens, baking ovens, and vacuum dehydrating ovens; dropping resistors for line applications in railroads and load banks; winterizing hoppers, conveyors, ducts, and car heating; and original equipment for air conditioning, laboratory equipment, food packaging, and presses. The FS Series finned strip heaters include two offset bolt-type terminals at one end and can be easily controlled with a heating control panel, mechanical thermostat, or bi-metal thermostats installed on the heater's surface. The heaters come with mounting holes for secure installation on the wall housing and have an extending terminal for easy electrical connections. Special order options allow for lead wires to extend from one end of the strip heater, enhancing installation flexibility. The operating temperature, which is application-dependent, must be specified to select the appropriate wire insulation jacket temperature rating. These heaters are encased in an aluminized steel sheath, providing both corrosion resistance and an attractive appearance, suitable for applications with a maximum sheath temperature of 1000°F (538°C). For higher temperatures, stainless steel heaters are recommended.
