Caloritech™ SS Series radiant strip heaters and component heaters feature offset terminals at one end and are designed for a variety of applications, including surface heating of platens, dies, molds, tanks, and piping; process air heating in drying cabinets, ovens, and vacuum dehydrating ovens; as dropping resistors in railroads and load banks; and for winterizing purposes like hoppers and conveyors. These heaters are equipped with two offset bolt-type terminals and can be easily controlled using a heating control panel, mechanical thermostat, or bi-metal thermostats installed on the heater's surface. The design includes mounting holes for secure installation on walls, with terminals extending from the sheath for straightforward electrical connections. Special order options include lead wires that extend from one end of the strip heater, allowing more flexible installations. The heaters are encased in an aluminized steel sheath, providing corrosion resistance and an appealing finish, with a maximum sheath temperature not exceeding 1000°F (538°C). For applications requiring higher temperatures, stainless steel heaters are recommended. The operating temperature is application-dependent, and suitable wire temperature ratings must be selected for the insulation jacket.
